Daniel J. Laser, Ph.D., Wave 80’s Chief Executive Officer and President, will speak at the 3rd International Workshop on Innovation and Commercialization of Micro and Nano Technology (ICMAN 2009), the company announced today.
The ICMAN workshop is a forum for thought leaders in fields ranging from energy to telecommunications to medicine to gather and exchange ideas on successfully bringing innovative new micro- and nanotechnology-based products to market.
Dr. Laser’s presentation will focus on practical applications of micro and nanotechnology in medical devices and diagnostics for neglected infectious diseases in the developing world. He will share insight gained over three years developing Wave 80’s lead product, the EOSCAPETM system, which which leverages low-cost microtechnology to achieve gold-standard molecular diagnostics performance in a compact-form-factor system which can be operated across the full spectrum of environments where clinical laboratory testing is needed, from sophisticated high-throughput laboratories to small clinics in remote areas.
